Als Stickerin habe ich ein Motto:
Es ist nie zu früh, um für Weihnachten zu sticken.
Kreuzstich ist eben keine Handarbeit
mit der man mal eben schnell
ein Werk nach dem anderen in wenigen Stunden
produziert.
Normalerweise sticke ich weihnachtliche Motive
das ganze Jahr hindurch.
Aber normalerweise zeige ich sie hier nicht
weil ich bestrebt bin meine Posts passend zur Jahreszeit zu gestalten
(was normalerweise dazu führt, dass ich fast nie
weihnachtliche Stickereien hier zeige,
weil dann, wenn die Jahreszeit dafür wäre
meist meine Zeit zu knapp ist ….
blöde Sache dieses „normalerweise“)
As a cross stitcher I do have a motto:
It is never to early to stitch for Christmas!
Cross stitching is no craft where you put out one finish after another in just some hours.
Normally I stitch Christmas-themed patterns all year round
but normally I don’t show it here, because I want to keep my posts according to the seasons.
(What normally leads to the fact, that I barley show my Christmas stitchings,
because normally when there is the season to show them,
there is not enough time …. stupid little thing this „normally“)
But now I have a very good reason for an exception.
I am in a TPS-Santa stitching SAL:
The „Santa Stitching Sunday SAL“
together with my long-year blogging friend Carol
and my new blogging friend Melissa.
And I am so happy and proud to stitch with those girls.
Jetzt aber habe ich einen guten Grund eine Ausnahme zu machen:
Ich sticke gemeinsam mit meiner langjährigen Bloggerfreundin Carol
und meiner neuen Bloggerfreundin Melissa
Santas.
Wir sticken jeden Sonntag und nur Sonntags
und versuchen so
jedes Monat einen Santa fertig zu bekommen.
We all started on Sunday, February 1
and we are going to stitch every Sunday on a TPS Santa
but only on Sundays.
In this way we hope to get finished one Santa every month.
Unfortunately I did not find time to stitch on my Santa
right on the second Sunday
so I am behind.
But I still hope
I will make it and will finish
my Santa next Sunday (fingers crossed)
Wir haben alle drei am Sonntag, 1. Februar angefangen.
Leider bin ich gleich am 2. Sonntag nicht zum Sticken gekommen
und so hinke ich jetzt schon hinterher.
Ich hoffe trotzdem noch, dass ich meinen Santa kommenden Sonntag fertig kriege.

So
this is my very first TPS Santa
and his progresses after two Sundays:
I am stitching on 28 ct Floba (Zweigart) one over one (what makes me a lot slower)
with the suggested DMC threads
(only replaced ecru with white)
I am not happy with the fabric
so I do not think that I will stitch the next Santa on the same.
Also, I do not think that I will stitch them all one over one.
I think the next Santa
will be stitched on linen two over two.
Ich sticke auf Flockenbast einfädig über einen Faden
mit den angegebenen DMC-Garnen
(nur Ecru hab ich mit Weiß ausgetauscht)
Allerdings werde ich den nächsten Santa
nicht mehr auf Floba sticken (zu hell)
und auch nicht mehr 1 über 1 (dauert zu lange).
And what do I stitch between Sundays?
Valentine themed things lately.
My favorite Valentine pattern this year was
the February design of „A Year in Chalk“,
but as I had not expected to get the pattern early enough
to get it stitched until Valentine’s Day
I started another one at the end of January.
One that I had in my stash since years
and that I wanted to stitch so long.
Und zwischen den Sonntagen wurde in den letzten Wochen
fleißig an Valentins-Designs gestickt.
Nachdem ich nicht erwartet hatte, dass ich
die „A Year in Chalk“-Februar Vorlage
rechtzeitig zu kaufen bekomme, hier in Europa,
hab ich Ende Januar mit einem anderen Design angefangen.
Eines, das ich schon lange sticken wollte.

this wonderful design was pushed back to 2nd place
by a „naughty“ little newcomer.

It is completely stitched of colonial knots.
