und ich bin schon sehr aufgeregt:

Mdm Samms „Meet & Greet“
zu sein,
an dem 35 Bloggerinnen aus allen Teilen unseres Erdballs teilnehmen
(eine Liste aller Blogs findet ihr am Ende dieses Posts)
Und aus diesem Anlass zeige ich heute ein paar Stickwerke aus meiner Sammlung,
die mir persönlich am besten gefallen, mit denen mich etwas Besonderes verbindet
oder die einfach nur „typisch“ für mich sind.
Damit es für diejenigen meiner heutigen Besucher, die schön öfter hier waren,
nicht allzu langweilig wird, sind es fast nur solche Werke, dich ich hier bisher noch nie gezeigt habe.

As the subtitle of my header says, this blog is about my wonderful life.
My wonderful life (which I live in Austria, Europe) with my hobbies, my garden, my home.
And although today’s post should be about my favorite hobby cross stitching
you will see, that you do not necessarily need to seperate these topics.
Well, enough talking
let’s start with todays picture gallery:
As I am not only a cross stitcher but a sampler lover I immediately was taken by this design:
„Sampler aux Bouquet“ by Jardin Privée.
I stitched it back in 2011 together with many other (mainly French) ladies as a SAL.
You will not find many pictures of this SAL here in my blog, only some sneak peeks here and there.
The time, when I stitched this one, was a very hard time in my life
and stitching this wonderful motifs with this wonderful colors helped me to calm down and think positive.
Diesen wunderschönen Sampler hab ich in einer Zeit gestickt, die nicht leicht war für mich.
Das Sticken (gemeinsam mit vielen anderen – meist französischen Damen) dieses SALs hat mich damals aufgerichtet und mir Halt gegeben.
There are so many awesome cross stitch designers out there
and I think I have about twenty „favorites“.
One of them is Mrs. Veronique Enginger – a high talented French designer.
This lady provided us with so many amazing patterns,
above all with (at the moment) about 30 botanical studies.
I have stitched two of them up to now plus one still in progress.
The peony is one of the flowers I love most in my garden and the
„Etude de botanique Pivoine“
one of the stitchings I love most in my collection.
Botanische Studien fand und finde ich absolut dekorativ.
Wie wunderbar ist es also für uns Stickerinnen,
dass die überaus talentierte französische Designerin Veronique Enginger
uns mit bereits an die 30 Vorlagen für botanische Studien versorgt hat.
To give not the wrong impression of my stitching habits
I have to admit that I mainly do NOT stitch projects in the size of the Sampler aux Bouquet or the botanical studies. Normally I do stitch smalls.
Lavender is one of my favorite herbs in the garden. I love its color and its scent.
And lavender is a perfect motif for stitching smalls.
The picture I show here is from the German designer LKE and called: „Lavender Princess“.
I have stitched this one back in 2010 and as I never have shown her here in my blog: Voilà …
The Lavender Princess does also have a maid, the „Lavender Miss“,
and that poor one waits ready stitched for her framing in my drawer since years.
Die ersten beiden Werke mögen ein falsches Bild von meinen „täglichen“ Stickprojekten geben,
darum muss ich zugeben: Normalerweise sticke ich viel kleinere Projekte.
Die „Lavendelprinzessin“ von LKE liegt schon eher in dem von mir bevorzugten Größenbereich.
Ich habe sie bereits 2010 gestickt und bisher noch nie hier gezeigt.
Sie hatte aber wenigstens das Glück, dass sie sofort in einen Rahmen kam und meine Wohnung jedes Jahr im Sommer schmücken darf.
Ihrer Zofe, dem „Lavendelfräulein“, war dieses Glück bisher nicht bestimmt.
Diese arme Maid liegt seit Jahren fertig gestickt aber ungerahmt in meinem Schrank …
Stitching smalls is a very satisfying pastime.
You can collect many many patterns, stitch them in a short time,
finish them in so many different ways with ribbons and buttons and pearls and stuff
and display them as a seasonal highlight.
I really enjoy to do all this (especially the collecting part, haha)
and decorate my wonderful Cubby Organizer with this finishes
every two or three months in a new way.
Kleine Dinge zu sticken, die Vorlagen dazu zu sammeln,
sie in verschiedenster Weise endzufertigen ist eine so zufriedenstellende Tätigkeit,
ich liebe das.
Und natürlich liebe ich auch, dass ich auf diese Weise relativ rasch
so viele kleine Stickwerke zusammen bekomme, dass ich meinen Cubby
alle zwei bis drei Monate neu dekorieren kann.
